Lakeview to Host Wheat Educational Campus Open House

Lakeview Public Schools will host an open house at the Wheat Educational Campus.

Lakeview Public Schools will hold an open house Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Wheat Educational Campus on Harper, south of 11 Mile. 

The building is the current location of the Lakeview administrative offices, and will be home to additional programs in the future, according to district officials. 

Doors open at 6 p.m. and will be followed by a program that includes:

  • Tours of the administrative offices, Wayne State University and Innovative classes
  • Performances by the Lakeview High School quartet, jazz ensemble in the community room
  • A ribbon cutting for the opening of the new building.

The Wheat building originally housed Wheat Elementary until it was sold in 1979 due to declining enrollment. Last year, the district purchased the property back due to rising enrollment and program offerings.
