Wendy Clem is Motown homegrown with a BFA in journalism from Wayne State University and extensive experience in media. Her humor columns, auto reviews, business/community features, photos and breaking news have appeared in all of C & G's Publications, the View newspapers, Artisan's Well magazine, The Oakland Press, Blade, the Macomb Observer, the Detroit Daily Press, MIDog, Warren Guardian, Heritage Magazine, Avanti Newsfeatures, Detroit Monthly magazine and numerous regional and national magazines, such as Woman's Day. Online, she writes the Detroit City Buzz and Detroit Insider Deals columns for examiner.com, and appears at bowl.com through her media work for the United States Bowling Congress, eHow as Clem-Media, and at Rsportscars.com and greencars.com as well as HubPages, InfoBarrel, Associated Content and Yahoo.com. She creates humor verse for Avanti Press greeting cards, wrote for Springbrook Publications and composed her own cards, Clem's Gems. A few of the media positions she has held include senior managing editor, staff reporter and photographer, contributing editor and freelancer, and worked extensively as a copy editor for Demand Media Studios.
Wendy has interviewed celebrities like Yoko Ono, murder victim Tara Grant's family and Special Olympians among many others, and tickled many with her photos. She received honors scholarships at WSU for academic excellence, and was the 2005 recipient of the Michigan State Award for Historical Interviews of World War II Veterans for her book, The Lucky 17, which was co-authored with WWII Navy vet William Stevenson.
She has been active in leading or supplementing community involvement for more than 30 years, and is currently on the Roseville Board of Canvassers, and Roseville Community Coalition for anti-substance abuse.
