Richard Margittay, Community Contributor

Richard Margittay, a native New Yorker, is a career police officer (Dearborn PD, Dearborn Michigan) and graduate of Western Michigan University (Sociology). Also a professional sports photographer with photo credits in books and several national magazines including Sports Illustrated, Margittay served in the Michigan Army National Guard and Army Reserves, and is a retired commissioned officer (Infantry).

A police-trained law enforcement specialist in carnival game crimes and victimization, Margittay has written two books and several articles relating to crooked games, illegal gambling, and corruption on carnival midways in America. His latest article in "Crime Magazine" is entitled: "Carnival Racketeering and Organized Crime." Margittay has been twice sued for defamation by carnival tycoons relating to his exposure of their rigged games. Both lawsuits were dismissed.
