  this place is so cool. it's unique to wheaton and totally wallet-friendly! my sister and i both have a huge sweet tooth and were huge fans of this little spot when we first visited wheaton

  Food here is really good and portions are generous considering the average-to-pricey menu. You get a salad/soup with the entree, too. The chicken is very good, as is the salmon and the cheesecake.

  Best hot fudge ever! And buying local...very responsible :). The Sanders family used to have a house on Stevens Road (so I've heard). It was painted gray with yellow shutters back in the day, though.

  This place is classic Michigan--even though the re-do and new ownership is a little frustrating to see. The fudge is amazing and so are all the candies and ice cream. It's expensive though.

  You're sick of going to bars that water down drinks and the hicks and roadies and college kids breathing down your neck at the next table. Rugby Grill is the spot to go in Birmingham where you'll see athletes, musicians and actors, and the drinks are nice and strong. I don't even know what I'd say about the food--because by the time it gets to me I'm either lost in a martini or in people-watching.

  Who doesn't love Dick's?! The apple/brie app is really yummy and the car bombs are wonderful too. Don't go here if you're trying to keep a low profile, though. You'll see everyone you know and their sister's cousin's best friends' ex boyfriend, etc. It's great for running into people and easy to strike up conversation with anyone.

  This place is a great after-work happy hour spot. If Steve is still bartending there, be sure to let him know you were referred to him! He's really nice, attentive and has a way of making patrons feel relaxed and welcome. Apps here are really hearty, too. Perfect for a cold day and work as a dinner option.
