John, I think Howard did read it, but not when her daughter brought it home (maybe when it was brought up to the board). I hope I remember correctly—but am not 100% sure on that.

There were other parents at the meeting who were also disturbed by the content, so I imagine there were other students who were bothered by the book.

It looks like the email was sent at 8:59 a.m. I don't think there was damage in other areas of the building and there wasn't enough damage to cancel school. I'm not sure about your other questions.
