Charlie Kadado, Neighbor

Charlie Kadado is the author of the award-winning novel, "Sacrifice: Reporting in Kabul." A former reporter for Scholastic News, Charlie covered dozens of national news stories, including the 2008, 2010, and 2012 elections, the Haiti and Japan earthquakes, and a special report on Rebuilding Detroit. He even conducted an exclusive sit-down interview with world-renowned anthropologist Dr. Jane Goodall. Charlie is also a Detroit TV reporter for HMD Multimedia, a freelance television affiliate in the Detroit market. In his free time, Charlie writes books for adults and children and volunteers for several Michigan organizations. He has received 2 Gold President’s Volunteer Service Award from President Obama, the Prudential Spirit of Community Award, and a Special Tribute from the State of Michigan for his service work. He also received the Bookfield Creative Minds 2012 Emerging Author Award.
