Statement from U.S. Rep. Sander Levin Following the State of Union Address

U.S. Rep. Sander Levin, D-Royal Oak, who represents St. Clair Shores in Congress, released a statement following President Barack Obama's State of the Union address.

Sander Levin, D-Royal Oak, released the following statement after President Obama’s State of the Union address:   ”The President extended his hand to Republicans in Congress and called on us to ‘just do it’ in partnership and with urgency. He laid out a clear and decisive path on jobs and manufacturing, balanced deficit reduction and key new initiatives that Congress must now tackle, including immigration reform and gun violence. I am optimistic about the possibility for progress after his clarion call for action and his inspiring description of the role of each of us citizens in his conclusion.”

State of the Union watch parties have been organized in St. Clair Shores.

The eyes and ears of Democrats and Republicans alike will be on President Barack Obama tonight as he delivers the annual State of the Union address from Washington D.C. Here in Southeast Michigan, countless watch parties have been organized by individuals and groups on both sides of the aisle. At least three parties have been planned for St. Clair Shores, according to the Obama-Biden website and the Americans for Prosperity website.
