Property owners in St. Clair Shores have until 3 p.m. Sunday to clear snow and ice from sidewalks following the declaration of the snow event.
St. Clair Shores has declared a snow event effective 3 p.m. Friday. According to city ordinance, property owners have 48 hours to clear snow and ice from their sidewalks, which would be 3 p.m. Sunday. Properties which do not comply, will receive a warning from the city that the city will return in 24 hours to clear the sidewalk. The property owners will be billed for the service if the city contractor removes the snow.

Residents are also not allowed to park on city streets during the snow emergency, which is in effect until noon, Sunday, Feb. 10.

The City of St. Clair Shores has canceled the snow event declared Monday.
The City of St. Clair Shores cancelled the snow event declared Monday. The announcement was made Tuesday through a post on the city Facebook page. Had the snow event not been cancelled, residents would have been required to remove snow and ice from public walkways by Wednesday morning. Much of the snow and ice has been removed naturally, with unseasonably warm temperatures and showers since the ice and snow fell early Monday. The National Weather Service is calling for a high of 56.
