25 Hidden Treasures in Macomb County

From Stony Creek Metropark to Lake St. Clair, and from restaurants in St. Clair Shores to Shelby Township, Macomb County offers plenty of things to do for families and individuals.

All this week, editors from Clinton Township, Macomb, New Baltimore-Chesterfield, St. Clair Shores and Shelby-Utica compiled a list of the top five hidden treasures in their communities. As far as BEST Italian restaurants in Shelby Township, my husband and I believe that Da Fratellis on Van Dyke SHOULD be included in the listing. THEIR spaghetti sauce is OUTSTANDING!! Much better than other nearby Italian restaurants , much much better and tastier. Been going there for MANY years.   more ›

Top 5 Hidden Treasures in St. Clair Shores

From historic landmarks to scenic waterfronts, residents and visitors can find family-friendly fun in the area.

This iconic toy and hobby store has been a fixture in St. Clair Shores for more than 40 years. With a wide selection of trains to dolls, there is something for kids of all ages. And if you visit the store, you can find one of the largest model train layouts in Macomb County in addition to an elevated track which runs along the outer walls of the store. St. Clair Shores may not be considered "Surf City," but outdoor enthusiasts can purchase stand-up paddleboards, longboard skateboards and surf apparel at Great Lakes Surf Shop.
