Users of the social networking site in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa were affected Thursday, according to the Associated Press.
St. Clair Shores Patch was not immune to a Twitter outage that affected users around the world Thursday, the day before the 2012 Olympic Games were set to kick off in London. While the social networking site appeared to be working again Thursday afternoon, earlier in the day users were greeted with an error message when attempting to access the service via computer. "The outage — which was first noticed at around 11:15 a.m. ET and had been down for about an hour — didn’t even displaying the company’s typical 'fail whale' logo it typically posts during down times," according to social media site mashable.com.
