Rep. Roberts to Participate in Listening Tour

State Rep. Sarah Roberts will join other Michigan House Democrats in a listening tour that will stop in Macomb County.

State Rep. Sarah Roberts, D-St. Clair Shores, will join her Michigan House Democratic colleagues Monday in a listening tour that will stop in Macomb County. Roberts, and other Democrats, will hear the concerns of local citizens and "how Republican policies such as tax increases and education funding cuts have hurt average, hard-working Michiganders, and take those priorities back to the state Capitol," according to a release. The Macomb County event will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the Polish Century Club, 33204 Maple Lane Dr., Sterling Heights.

State Representative-Elect Sarah Roberts Takes Oath of Office

State Representative-Elect Sarah Roberts, D-St. Clair Shores, took the oath of office Friday in Lansing.

State Representative-elect Sarah Roberts took the oath of office Friday in Lansing. Roberts will represent the new Michigan House District 18 which includes St. Clair Shores and Eastpointe. Roberts, a Democrat, received 65 percent of the vote in the Michigan House District 18 race in the November general election against Candice Rusie, a Republican, who is currently a member of the St. Clair Shores City Council. Roberts served in the Michigan House from 2008-2010. Current State Rep. Anthony Forlini, R-Harrison Township, represents a new district which includes Harrison and Clinton townships.
