The St. Joan of Arc community gathered Friday for a surprise celebration for Sister Carol Juhasz that included a ride in St. Clair Shore fire truck, serenade by the schoolchildren and fellowship.

Parents, staff, students and members of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and School community gathered Friday to surprise Sister Carol Juhasz with a ride in a St. Clair Shores fire truck and community celebration. Although she is battling cancer, Sister Carol hopped out of the passenger seat of the fire truck and greeted the St. Joan of Arc student body - who were all wearing specially designed pink T-shirts which honored her. She then danced, signed T-shirts and …

What Qualities Would You Like to See in the Next Pope?

Pope Benedict XVI will retire Thursday, and the process to select his successor will begin. What qualities would you like to see in the next pope.

At 8 p.m. Thursday in Rome, Pope Benedict XVI will become the first pope in more than 600 years to retire.  The cardinals of the Roman Catholic church are currently meeting in Rome this week to bid farewell to Pope Benedict as well as to decide when the conclave will begin to elect the next pope. The church has said it plans to have a new pope in place before Easter on March 31. What issues in the Roman Catholic Church would you …

St. Joan of Arc Football Coach Wins 100th Game

Coach Dennis Shubnell won his 100th game last Saturday as the coach of St. Joan of Arc's football team, and returns to the sidelines today for a game against Our Lady of the Lakes.

St. Joan of Arc's football team win this past week over Marist Academy was historic for two different reasons. It was the first home night game for the Chargers, and it was the 100th victory for head football coach Dennis Shubnell.
