The general public will be able to see one last performance of the St. Clair Shores Figure Skating Club's adaptation of "Mary Poppins" Sunday at Civic Arena. The show, which is an adaptation of "Mary Poppins," takes to the ice at 2 p.m. Sunday. Prices are $8 at the door, for children and seniors, $10 at the door for adults.

Special needs students and adults enjoyed a private performance Thursday of the St. Clair Shores Figure Skating Club's Reflections on Ice show at Civic Arena.
The St. Clair Shores Figure Skating Club presented a special, private performance Thursday of the Reflections on Ice Show for about 800 special needs children and adults from Metro Detroit at Civic Arena. The show was presented in conjunction with the Shorewood Kiwanis who provided snack bags, clowns and day out for attendees. The general public will be able to see the show Friday - Sunday at Civic Arena. The show, which is an adaptation of "Mary Poppins," takes to the ice at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Prices are $7 in advance, $8 at the door, for children and seniors, $9 in advance and $10 at the door for adults. Advance tickets are available at Civic Arena.

Members of the Shorewood Kiwanis gathered Wednesday to pack nearly 800 snack bags for Special Needs Childrens Day at the St. Clair Shores Figure Skating Club Ice Show at St. Clair Shores Civic Arena.

From a meeting of St. Clair Shores City Council, to the Shorian Taste Fest, there will be a number events this week in the city.
Municipal business, a student play and an ice show are just some of the events to look forward to this week in St. Clair Shores. 1. St. Clair Shores City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in City Hall. Among the items on the agenda is a request from the Michigan Department of Transportation for a noise variance for evening and weekend work on I-94 between 11 and 12 Mile roads. 2. The Pro Football Hall of Fame will come to Lake Shore High School to honor George Allen, a former NFL coach and St. Clair Shores-native who is a member of the Hall of Fame. 3. A grand opening celebration was held Sunday for the new Youth Fitness Center in Civic Arena. The event was held on opening day for the St. Clair Shores Hockey Association.
A public-private partnership between St. Clair Shores, the St. Clair Shores Hockey Association and the St. Clair Shores Figure Skating Club led to the construction, and opening Sunday, of a new fitness center at Civic Arena. The project, funded with more than $114,000 raised by the SCSHA and SCSFSC along with $50,000 in federal Housing and Urban Development money, converted two all-purpose rooms at the complex into a state-of-the-art fitness facility. "This is our building as residents of St. Clair shores. We need this building to be an asset," said Shawn Nicholson, hockey association board member. Nearly 700 special needs adults and children from across Metro Detroit were treated Thursday to a special performance of the St. Clair Shores Figure Skating Club's Reflections on Ice show at Civic Arena. The show, which features adaptations of Disney fairy tales and princess stories, was provided free of charge by the Shorewood Kiwanis. In addition to seeing the show, attendees enjoyed treats from snack bag, interacting with clowns and a day out. Public performances of the show will be held: Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and children.
