Lake Shore Soccer Advances to Regionals

Lake Shore takes on Dearborn Divine Child Wednesday in a regional soccer game at Bloomfield Hills Lahser.

The Lake Shore Shorians soccer team will meet Dearborn Divine Child at 5 p.m. Wednesday in a regional game at Bloomfield Hills Lahser. The Shorians (16-1-1) earned a trip to regionals against Divine Child (9-2) after defeating shutting out St. Clair 7-0 on Oct. 18 in a Division 2 District Championship game. This is the second straight year Lake Shore has played in the boys soccer regionals.

Lake Shore, Lakeview Soccer Advance to District Soccer Finals

Two of the three high school soccer teams in St. Clair Shores have advanced to the MHSAA district finals. Lake Shore plays at home, and Lakeview will play at Grosse Pointe North.

St. Clair Shores will have two high school soccer teams competing today in district final games. Lake Shore topped Center Line 4-0 Wednesday to advance to the district championship game, according to the MHSAA website. The Shorians will play St. Clair at 6 p.m. tonight at Lake Shore. Lakeview deafeated Roseville 2-1 Wednesday to advance to the district championship game, according to the MHSAA website. The Huskies will face Grosse Pointe South at 6 p.m. tonight at Grosse Pointe North. South Lake lost 7-0 Wednesday to Detroit Country Day. Lake Shore to Host Soccer Districts

The Shorians will be playing host to area schools next week for the MHSAA soccer districts.

The Lake Shore Shorians, the MAC Blue Division co-champions, will be hosting the boys soccer districts starting Oct. 15. The Shorians will face Warren Lincoln at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the athletic field. Lake Shore will host a second round, double-header of district semi-final games on Oct. 17 and the district championship game on Oct. 18. Lakeview will open district Oct. 15 with a game against Detroit Western International at Grosse Pointe North. South Lake travels to Detroit Country Day Oct. 15 for a first round game against Harper Woods.

Philips powers Lakeview Soccer Team

Philips scores twice as Lakeview shuts out rival Lake Shore 3-0.

Keiley Philips scored two goals to lead the Lakeview girls soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Lake Shore on Friday. Sarah Economeas added a goal and two assists for the Huskies. Sam Uppleger made 12 saves to record the shutout in goal for Lakeview, which improved its overall record to 2-1-1. Lakeview plays at Romeo on Monday.
