While big box stores may be trying to top each other to see how early they can open, independent retailers in St. Clair Shores are focusing on unique items and personalized service on Black Friday.
Shoppers who want to enjoy their families on Thanksgiving, and avoid the crowds during the pre-dawn sales at the big box stores, can shop the Shores on Black Friday for a variety of items from independent retailers. Businesses in St. Clair Shores are participating in the American Express Small Business Saturday.
This holiday weekend, American Express is urging people to "shop small" and support local businesses on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. The credit card company is offering a one-time $25 statement credit to shoppers who spend at least $25 at a small business after registering their credit card here. Any non-franchised locally owned shop qualifies if it accepts American Express. Roundhouse BBQ in Trenton took top honors in Food Fight poll.
The people have spoken: Roundhouse BBQ is the best place for barbecue in southeastern Michigan. Roundhouse BBQ, located on 2760 W Jefferson Ave. in Trenton, received 42 percent of the vote in the Food Fight poll. Slow’s Bar-B-Q, located on 2138 Michigan Ave. in Detroit, finished second with 37 percent of the vote. Bad Brad’s BBQ in New Baltimore was third with 14 percent, and Pit Master Barbeque was fourth with five percent. Voting took place from Wednesday morning until Friday at 5 p.m. Congratulations, Roundhouse BBQ, and thank you to all who participated in the Food Fight by voting in the poll and leaving comments on the site. Holiday light fans can travel Harper, cruise along the Nautical Mile or keep on track to Nine Mile and Mack, to view impressive light and window displays—and your St. Clair Shores Patch is joining in the fun and competition of the city-wide lighting campiagn.
