Food Fight

New York Deli Has Best Sandwiches in Macomb County

New York Deli edges Jimmy Dee's and Nautical Deli for the best place for sandwiches in Macomb County in the Food Fight poll.

Patch users say New York Deli is the best place for sandwiches in Macomb County. New York Deli, located at 25008 Little Mack Ave. in St. Clair Shores, received 34 percent of the vote to win a furious Food Fight poll Jimmy Dee’s in Clinton Township finished second with 33 percent, and Nautical Deli in St. Clair Shores was third with 31 percent. Voting took place from Wednesday morning until Friday at 5 p.m. Congratulations, New York Deli, and thanks to all who participated in the Food Fight by voting in the poll and leaving comments on the site. The New York Deli on 23 Mile Rd. in Shelby is great. They have wonderful soup, sandwiches and salads. They serve real deli style sandwiches. I have eaten there many times and have had good food and service every time.   more ›

When Patch asked for people’s opinions on the best place for sandwiches in Macomb County, you responded. We listened, and you have told us your top three choices: Jimmy Dee’s, Nautical Deli and New York Deli. Now we’re asking for a little more help to finish off this Food Fight. Bommarito Bakery: Subs, Pizza and Holiday Cheer

Bommarito Bakery has served St. Clair Shores for almost 50 years offering not only baked goods but also wine and Italian groceries. During the holiday season, Bommarito Bakery brings special items that are not available at any other time of year.

There are few places in St. Clair Shores with as much history as Bommarito Bakery. Since 1925, Bommarito has been serving the metro Detroit area.  More specifically, Bommarito moved to its Greater Mack location in 1961.  Bommarito's is a large space, but can feel crowded especially at certain times of day. Not only is it a bakery, but there is also a huge selection of wine and Italian groceries.   Coming up on their 50th anniversary in St. Clair Shores, there's no sign of popularity waning.
