Part of westbound Lake Shore Road will be closed Thursday, according to the Grosse Pointe Farms Department of Public Safety.
Construction will close part of Lake Shore Road in Grosse Pointe Farms on Thursday, according to a Nixle alert from the Grosse Pointe Farms Department of Public Safety. Westbound (southbound) Lake Shore will close at approximately 8:30 a.m. Thursday as crews make road repairs that will last about eight to nine hours. Grosse Pointe Farms will re-route traffic up Warner Road and down Grosse Pointe Boulevard. Eastbound (northbound) Lake Shore will remain open during construction.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is scheduled to start a resurfacing project Monday morning on the I-696 service drive in Roseville.
Construction crews are scheduled to begin work on a resurfacing project today on the I-696 service drive between Gratiot Ave. and Groesbeck Highway. The $1 million project includes the resurfacing of more than two miles of the eastbound and westbound I-696 service drive between Gratiot and Groesbeck. The Michigan Department of Transportation stated in a release there will be completed single-lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. During the weekend, the single-lane closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Lane restrictions will be in effect at the Gratiot, Hayes and Groesbeck intersections from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. The project is scheduled to be completed in July.

Road construction still hobbles motorists across metropolitan Detroit.
With temperatures heating up, motorists have even more headaches to worry about while on the roads this week. St. Clair Shores Construction continues on Little Mack from 10 to 12 Mile and Harper from 13 to 15 Mile. Wayne County Eastbound I-94 at Haggerty Road will experience lane closures during the day on Saturday. As part of the project, the ramp from southbound Haggerty Road is closed for construction Saturday, too. The single-lane closure of southbound I-275 over Van Born Road is winding down. MDOT lifts most traffic restrictions for Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Even construction goes on vacation. Motorists should expect to get a temporary reprieve from road construction this weekend as the Michigan Department of Transportation is suspending work on 75 out of the current 142 projects statewide over the Memorial Day holiday. Ongoing bridge work and lighting upgrades will bring lane closures to I-94 and I-696 this weekend.
Drivers along I-94 and I-696 will have construction this weekend. I-696 Ongoing bridge work will require a two-lane closure nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on eastbound and westbound I-696 between Van Dyke Ave. and Schoenherr Road. The right lane of eastbound I-696 will also be closed from Hoover to Bunert roads for ongoing construction from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
