Nightly Lane Closures Planned for I-94

Westbound I-94 will be reduced to one lane nightly through Friday according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Night riders be prepared for nightly lane closures on westbound I-94 in St. Clair Shores. As part of the on-going I-94 resurfacing project, westbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane from Masonic Blvd to I-696 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday. The westbound lanes of the expressway will again be reduced to one lane  from 8 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday for ongoing road work, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Weekend Construction Road Projects Around Macomb County and the State

If you are heading around town this weekend, or to one of the football games in the state, Patch has a list of roadwork projects planned, and links, to arrive in time for kickoff.

More orange barrels will clutter our major thoroughfares this weekend and into next week. Here's a look at the sections you may want to avoid.  I-696 There will be a right-lane closure on westbound I-696 and a closure of the westbound I-696 exit to Mound Road from 6 a.m. Saturday until 4 p.m. Sunday. There will also be multiple lane closures with a 15-minute total closure on westbound I-696 from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Sunday. I-94 Eastbound and westbound I-94 will have single and double lane closures between Shook Road and M-59 from 9 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday for maintenance work. The left two lanes of westbound I-94 will be closed at 10 Mile from 9 - 11 p.m. Tuesday for sign removal.

Weekend Construction Closes Multiple Lanes on Hall Road, I-94

Both sides of Hall Road and stretches of I-94 north of 23 Mile Road will be under construction this weekend and through next week.

The orange barrels will still be out in force this weekend along our major thoroughfares. Here's a look at roadways you may want to avoid in Macomb County until Monday. Hall Road: Van Dyke to Hayes Two lanes will be closed on eastbound Hall Road from Van Dyke Avenue to Hayes Road from 9 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Tuesday for pavement repair.  Hall Road: Groesbeck to Card The right two lanes of westbound Hall Road will be closed from Groesbeck Highway to Card Road from 5:30 a.m. until noon on Sunday for maintenance. 24 Mile: Card to North Avenue 24 Mile Road will be closed to thru traffic between Elan Drive and North Avenue for paving operations. Road crews will be out this weekend on two major roadways in Macomb County. Plan your trip accordingly.

M-59 Two lanes will be closed on eastbound M-59 from Van Dyke to Hayes from 9 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Tuesday for pavement repairs. I-94 Eastbound I-94 from M-29 (23 Mile Road) to County Line Road will have a single-lane closure from 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Sunday for reconstruction. Here are a few items to get your Tuesday started. 1. The National Weather Service is forecasting a rainy day with a high near 47. There will be east, northeast wind between 11 and 16 miles per hour, and 90 percent chance of precipitation. 2. Michigan Department of Transportation will have a rolling right-lane closure from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. today on westbound I-94 from 8 Mile to Gratiot to remove traffic control devices. 3. Harper Open to Traffic

After five months of construction work on Harper, north of 13 Mile, crews have removed the orange barrels and opened the roadway to traffic.

Businesses and motorists can rejoice as Harper from 13 Mile Road north to the city limits is open for traffic. The Macomb County Department of Roads recently opened Harper after nearly five months of construction work which included nearly two miles of concrete reconstruction and asphalt resurfacing. The project stretched from 13 Mile to 15 Mile, and included the 14 Mile and Fisher intersection. Looking out the front window of That's Amore Pizza, business owner Albert Hakim was pleased to see traffic flowing smoothly. "Thank God it is open," he said Tuesday. Hakim added that he had to advertise double during the construction, and is glad to get back to normal. "There are more people on the road, and that means more business," he said. The …

That light is really long for some reason. The timings are off and need to be reset. As far as the repaving of Harper avenue they have done a tremendous job and it looks great. I commend the workers that did the paving. Great job. The street is so smooth now even for my motorcycle. Now it make the city of St. Clair shores look even better. Thank You.   more ›
