Update: St. Clair Shores Attorney Charged With Embezzling Nearly $400K

The Macomb County Prosecutor's Office has brought charges against a St. Clair Shores attorney for allegedly embezzling nearly $400,000 from a trust for two teenage boys. He was arraigned Tuesday.

The Macomb County Prosecutor's Office has charged an attorney from St. Clair Shores with allegedly stealing nearly $400,000 from a trust for two teenage boys. Robert Buschmohle, 39, who is charged with embezzlement over $100,000,  was appointed sole trustee of a living trust for two Warren males. Investigators allege Buschmohle wrote checks to himself from the fund over four years, draining it of all $389,000.  The mother of the boys attempted to contact Buschmohle as they neared the trust disbursement age of 19 to find out how they would receive their payments. After she was unable to contact him, she made a complaint to the Attorney Grievance Commission, who brought the matter to the Warren Police, according to the release. “This family …

Macomb County Elections 2012: Incumbents Return to Office

Voters across Macomb County Tuesday returned incumbents to county-wide offices.

Voters across Macomb County returned incumbents to office Tuesday and voted down a millage for Macomb Community College. With 100 percent of the vote tallied, Democrats have dominated county races. Macomb County Prosecuting Attorney Eric J. Smith received 65 percent of the vote over Republican challenger Michael R. Wrathell. Anthony Wickersham won his first run for sheriff as a candidate. The incumbent Democrat has a strong lead -- with 61 percent of the vote -- over his challengers, Republican Steve Thomas and Libertarian Scott W. Allen. Shores Man Pleads Guilty In Fatal Drug Case

St. Clair Shores man charged with delivering fatal dose of heroin to his estranged wife.

A St. Clair Shores man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Macomb Circuit Court to supplying a lethal dose of heroin to his estranged wife. Nicholas Barczi, 30, is one of the first people to be charged in Macomb County with delivery of a controlled substance causing death, a life felony, for the overdose of Nicole Waines, 25. She died nearly one year ago in Barczi’s apartment after she took heroin Barczi purchased in Detroit. "I don't want this to happen to another innocent girl," said Rose Streetman, Waines' mother, who agreed to the plea. "I did it for my family, friends and my grandson." Judge to Consider Request from Accused Eyelid Biter

The lawyer for the Clinton Township man accused of assaulting his estranged wife requested the judge to reconsider bond reduction.

A Macomb Circuit Court judge will consider a motion from the attorney representing a 32-year-old Clinton Township man accused of striking his wife and biting off her eyelid to reduce his bond. Judge Diane Druzinski is expected to issue a ruling next month. Prosecution and defense attorneys Monday had a contentious exchange regarding the request, which included an outburst from Rahsaan Thedford's estranged wife. Robert Vandenbroucke, who is representing Thedford, filed a motion requesting the judge reconsider her earlier decision to reduce his client's $100,000 bond.
