Michigan State Police troopers are investigating a car-pedestrian crash Tuesday morning on I-94 near Little Mack.
The Michigan State Police are investigating a car-pedestrian traffic crash Tuesday morning on westbound I-94 near Little Mack. Investigators report that about 6:05 a.m. a pedestrian attempted to cross the westbound lanes of I-94 and was struck by a Ford Fusion travelling in the left lane. Michigan State Police stated Tuesday afternoon that information relayed to Detroit Regional Dispatch Center that the pedestrian had died at the scene was inaccurate. Michigan State Police Lt. Michael Shaw said the victim had been transported to the hospital prior to the arrival of troopers. More orange barrels will clutter our major thoroughfares this weekend. Here's a look at the sections you may want to avoid. I-696 The two-lane ramp from eastbound I-696 to eastbound I-94 will be reduced to one lane from 5 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday for I-94 shoulder work. I-94 Eastbound and westbound I-94 will be reduced to a one lane between 23 Mile and County Line roads from 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday for construction. The right lane of eastbound and westbound I-94 will be closed between Masonic and 12 Mile Road from 5 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday for shoulder repairs. In addition, the ramps to and from both eastbound and westbound I-94 at 12 Mile Road will be closed.

The Michigan Department of Transportation announced Thursday it will conduct weekend and overnight sign and light replacement on I-94 in Detroit and Harper Woods.
The Michigan Department of Transportation announced Thursday it will begin replacing freeway lights and overhead signs on Interstate 94 in Detroit and Harper Woods in mid-October. The $3.8 million project will include a moving the poles from the top of the median barrier wall to the freeway slopes and replacing overhead signs along a five-mile stretch of the expressway between French Road and Eight Mile in Detroit and Harper Woods, according to a release. Work will be conducted on weekends and overnight during the week and will include lane restrictions and intermittent ramp closures. The project should be completed in May 2013, according to MDOT.
