Eddie Money Previews His Show in Mount Clemens

Eddie Money discussed his show tonight in Mount Clemens during a special WJR-broadcast from Macomb County. Included in the interview is a modification of one of his most popular songs by County Executive Mark Hackel.

WJR-AM radio hosts Paul W. Smith and Frank Beckmann broadcast their shows Friday from Mount Clemens as part of the kick off to the Stars and Stripes Festival. The shows, which were broadcast from the Bath City Bistro, included a number of elected and appointed officials, businesses leaders and an interview with rock star Eddie Money.  Included in the interview was County Executive Mark Hackel singing a modified version of Money's song "Take Me Home Tonight" with new lyrics of "Make Macomb Your Home," which is also the title of county's marketing campaign. WJR Morning Shows to Broadcast From Mount Clemens

Paul W. Smith and Frank Beckmann will broadcast their morning shows Friday from Mount Clemens.

Two WJR-AM radio personalities will broadcast their morning shows Friday from Bath City Bistro in Mount Clemens. The morning shows for Paul W. Smith and Frank Beckmann will originate from Macomb County and will feature a number of local guests. Included in the show will be a round-table that includes Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel, Macomb Community College President Jim Jacobs, president of McLaren Macomb and a Comcast vice-president discussing economic development. Smith will broadcast from 5:30 - 9 a.m., and Beckmann's show will be from 9 a.m. - noon.

WJR and Fox 2 to Broadcast Live from St. Clair Shores

Radio host Frank Beckmann will bring his WJR radio show and rocker Eddie Money to Brownie's on the Lake Friday morning. Before the Memorial Day Parade, Mayor Kip Walby is scheduled to be interviewed live on Fox 2 Sunday morning.

Frank Beckmann is taking his popular WJR radio show on the road Friday and will broadcast live from 9 a.m. to noon at Brownie's on the Lake. A variety of guests from St. Clair Shores, Macomb County and beyond will be interviewed at the restaurant and on the phone. Scheduled guests include: The broadcast is open to the public, and Brownie's will be offering a complimentary buffet. On Sunday, Mayor Kip Walby will be interviewed live by Fox 2 meteorologist Rich Luterman outside Veterans Memorial Park. The interview will be broadcast at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Fox 2. Luterman will also be the special celebrity guest for the 60th Memorial Day Parade.

Hackel Helps Motorist on I-94

County Executive Mark Hackel returned to his law enforcement roots Tuesday as he helped a motorist on I-94 in St. Clair Shores.

When a motorist got in an accident on Interstate 94 in St. Clair Shores Tuesday morning, a good Samaritan with strong law-enforcement roots quickly came to her aid. Mark Hackel, the former sheriff and current Macomb County Executive, was traveling to Detroit to take part in the Big Four summit at Cobo Hall when he came upon the accident. The driver, Deante Greer of Port Huron, was en route to visit relatives in Harper Woods when she is believed to have lost control of her vehicle and struck the retaining wall near Stephens. "As we came down 94 and came to the curve we could see the car in resting in the lane and the (driver) trying to get out," Hackel said. His training took over and he immediately went into action.
