Kristin Chenoweth Movie Filmed at Lakeview to Hit the Big Screen

St. Clair Shores residents who participated in the filming of "Family Weekend" at Lakeview High School will be able to see their work on the big screen in Birmingham this weekend.

Aspiring actors and actresses from St. Clair Shores, who were extras in the movie Family Weekend, will be able to see themselves on the big screen this weekend for a limited engagement showing of the movie at the Birmingham 8 theater. The movie starring Kristin Chenoweth and Matthew Modine was filmed at Lakeview High School and other locations in Macomb County in 2011 with the stars and a number of Macomb County extras. “We got such great treatment from everyone in Michigan and especially Macomb County,” said producer Adam Saunders of Footprint Features, in a release.  “Everyone we came in contact with went out of their way to make us feel safe and comfortable.  They really set the tone for a great project and the film reflects that.” The …

Movie Release Date Set for Kristin Chenoweth Movie Filmed in Macomb County

The motion picture 'Family Weekend' was filmed in Macomb County in February 2011.

Macomb County's time on the silver screen in the movie Family Weekend will come later this month. The film, which was filmed at Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores and other locations throughout the county, will open March 29 in Detroit, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas, according to the movie's website. Nearly two years ago crews descended on Macomb County to film Family Weekend, starring Kristin Chenoweth, Matthew Modine, Shirley Jones, Oleysa Rulin and a cast of Macomb County extras. The film features Rulin as a 16-year-old jump-roping champ who takes her dysfunctional parents hostage in an effort to transform them into an actual family. The motion picture 'Family Weekend,' or 'Queen Freak' as it may be titled, was filmed in Macomb County in February 2011.

Are you ready for your close-up, Macomb County? It's been almost two years since film crews descended on Macomb County to film Family Weekend, but rumor has it the comedy starring Kristin Chenoweth, Matthew Modine, Shirley Jones, Oleysa Rulin and a cast of Macomb County extras will hit theaters in February 2013, according to the Chicago Tribune. The film features Rulin as a 16-year-old jump-roping champ who takes her dysfunctional parents hostage in an effort to transform them into an actual family. Hollywood Comes to Village Market

Mitch Albom's movie "Have a Little Faith" will be filming Wednesday morning at Village Market.

Shopping carts will be replaced temporarily by movie cameras Wednesday morning at Village Market as the store becomes a movie set for the movie Have a Little Faith. The made-for-television movie is based on the book by author and columnist Mitch Albom, and it will use the store as one of the local sets for the production. "They will have the entire store for about five hours Wednesday," said Jerry Monterosso, general manager of the store. "It is kind of exciting." The store will be closed from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. while the production shoots in the store. In addition to filming in the store, the parking lot for Maloof Jewelers will be used as a staging area, Monterosso stated. According to Albom's website, the book starts with a request …
