The two men charged in the armed robbery of the Exodus Salon were bound over Friday to stand trial in Macomb Circuit Court.
The two men charged in a string of armed robberies in Metro Detroit, including the Exodus Salon, waived their preliminary exam Friday in 40th District Court and will stand trial in Macomb Circuit Court. Larry Roosevelt, 34, and co-defendant Curtis Felton, 29, of Belleville, were to have their preliminary exams Friday on charges of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and felony firearm for the Exodus robbery. Before the proceedings began, both men agreed to waive their preliminary exam before Judge Joseph Oster and will be arraigned in Oct. 9 in Macomb Circuit Court. Felton is being held in the Macomb County Jail on $250,000 bond, Roosevelt is being held on $1 million bond. If convicted, both could face life in prison.

The two men charged in the armed robbery of the Exodus Salon will return Sept. 21 to 40th District Court for a pre-exam conference. Larry Roosevelt, 34, waived his right Friday to have his preliminary exam within 14 days and will have a pre-exam conference with co-defendant Curtis Felton, 29, of Belleville, in September. The men are alleged to have held up the Exodus Salon Aug. 16 during a multi-city crime spree and took money from the customers and employees before moving them into a backroom and fleeing from the business. Curtis Felton, one of two men charged in the armed robbery of the Exodus Salon, waived his right Friday to a preliminary exam within 14 days to allow his new attorney to prepare for the proceedings. "We need more time to prepare for this. It is a serious charge," said Mark Chadwick, who was appointed just a "few days ago" to the case. 40th District Court visiting Judge Thomas Brookover granted Chadwick's request. St. Clair Shores police, working with other local law enforcement agencies, have arrested the two men who are alleged to robbed salons throughout Metro Detroit, including the Exodus Salon on Harper Avenue.
St. Clair Shores Police have arrested two men who allegedly terrorized employees and customers at hair salons in Metro Detroit. Investigators followed a number of leads following the Aug. 16 robbery of the Exodus Salon—and salons in Oak Park and Warren—that led to the arrest of Curtis Felton, 29, of Belleville, and Larry Roosevelt, 34, of Detroit. "Cooperation between all these departments made this happen," said St. Clair Shores Police Detective David Scheuer. Police began compiling information on the case shortly after the incident as patrol officers worked with detectives in St. Clair Shores to link the robbery with a similar one in Warren. The two men who allegedly robbed the Exodus Salon in August have been arrested.
St. Clair Shores City Manager Ben Hughes announced Tuesday that the two men who police allege robbed the Exodus Salon at gunpoint have been arrested. Hughes said that the men, who were also believed to be involved in similar robberies in Oak Park and Warren, are in custody. The men allegedly walked into the salon on Harper Avenue just after noon, Aug. 16, and asked about hair treatments. One of the men then announced it was a "robbery" and proceeded to take cash from the women in the salon and moved them into a massage room at the salon. The men fled from the salon. It is interesting that the prosecution always state "this is a very serious crime". Well I was the victim of an armed robbery and the one defendant only got 30 months jail time after five months and three rescheduled court dates. I still have not received any of my personal items from the police.   more ›
