Former Roseville Kmart Site Prepped for Redevelopment

Roseville City Council recently approved a resolution creating a commercial rehabilitation district for the former Kmart location on 13 Mile, which could pave the way for a new theater or other big development.

The Emagine Theater that was once proposed for St. Clair Shores, and earlier Grosse Pointe, may find a home in Roseville at the site of a Kmart store that has been vacant for more than a decade. Roseville City Council recently approved the creation of a commercial rehabilitation district for the former Kmart store on 13 Mile, east of Little Mack, to attract new development. According to Mike Connors, the community and economic development administrator for Roseville, the designation would allow for property tax abatements for up to a decade. Abandoned KMart lot perfect for eMagine theater. Close to I 94 freeway, Harper, Little Mack and Gratiot. Plus the Grosse pointes. numerous resturants and shopping nearby. Emagine Theatres Proposing a 12-Screen Complex in St. Clair Shores

Mayor Kip Walby confirms Monday that Emagine Theatres is proposing a 12-screen theater complex on the southeast corner of 12 Mile and Little Mack.

Mayor Kip Walby confirmed Monday that Emagine Theatre is looking to build its first movie theater in Macomb County in St. Clair Shores. The 12-screen complex, which would be the first Emagine Theatre in Macomb County, is being proposed for the southeast corner of 12 Mile and Little Mack. "It is one of the more exciting developments we have had here in a decade," said Walby, of the "top-of-the-line" theater. "We are moving St. Clair Shores forward." City officials have been working with developers and land owners to bring Emagine to the city. The current proposal is for a 2,300 seat facility, and developers are considering obtaining a liquor license.
