Video: Council Remembers Beverly McFadyen

St. Clair Shores City Council remembered the late Councilwoman Beverly McFadyen during Monday's meeting, and honored her with a moment of silence and a posthumous proclamation.

St. Clair Shores City Council Monday honored former City Councilwoman Beverly McFadyen who died Jan. 9, 2012. McFadyen, 80, was first elected to City Council in 1999, and served until health issues forced her to retire. During her 12 years on council, she served two-terms as Mayor Pro Tem and liaison to a number of committees in the city and was a delegate to the Michigan Municipal League. It was in that position she earned the first Michigan Municipal League Award of Governance for St. Clair Shores. Survivors include a son, Thomas Cornfield. Funeral services were not held.

Obituary: Former Councilmember Beverly McFadyen Served the Shores

Former city councilwoman Beverly McFadyen died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012.

St. Clair Shores officials have confirmed that former councilwoman Beverly McFadyen died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012. McFadyen, who was first elected to City Council in 1999, did not run for re-election in the 2011. Funeral arrangements are pending. Patch will share the arrangements when they become available.
