Shores Inn is a St. Clair Shores institution. The building has been around since the turn of the century, and Shores Inn has been around for decades. Open for lunch until 2 a.m. every day of the week, there is more to this bar than drinks. The food has always been a important component of the business. From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day of the week, happy hour specials are offered: $1 off drinks, and buy 1, get 1 free appetizers (with the purchase of two drinks).    Appetizers are enough to share. Spinach and artichoke dip is creamy, cheesy and garlicky. Continuing our exploration of late-night dining and in the mood for pizza, G Willies was the choice. Serving food until 2 a.m., G Willies is ideal for those late-night pizza hunger pangs.

First let me define late-night eating. Any time you are looking for food after midnight, you have entered the realm of late-night eating. I am not condoning late-night eating on a regular basis, but if you have a craving, who am I to tell you no? After visiting Travis Coffee Shop last week, I started thinking about late-night eating. There have to be other options. There's nothing wrong with Travis, but their menu doesn't stray much from classic diner fare.   What if pizza is on your mind? Talking Turkey: Thanksgiving Dinner in a Pinch

Thanksgiving is this week! We look at some restaurants offering Thanksgiving dinner along with a carry-out option. Finally, a brief mention of a couple seasonal alcoholic beverages.

It's Thanksgiving week! Time for family, friends, food, and fun. Maybe a little bit of stress, too, trying to get all of the food on the table and keep everyone happy. Sometimes you want to push aside all of the stress and let someone else prepare a Thanksgiving feast for you. If you are eating Thanksgiving dinner at home, we'll also talk about a carry-out option and where to get seasonal wine and beer to help with all of the stress.
