The St. Clair Shores community will gather from 1-5 p.m. March 24 at Barrister Gardens for the annual Shorian Taste Fest fundraiser for the Lake Shore Quarterback Club.
A list of some of the businesses and restaurants participating in the annual Shorian Taste Fest fundraiser for the Lake Shore Quarterback Club at Barrister Gardens has been released. Among the restaurants that will be offering samples of their dishes at the annual fundraiser include: Area business that are participating include: Proceeds from the event allow the quarterback club to purchase items including helmets, weight room equipment and video equipment. Advance tickets are $15, and are available through the high school athletic Office. Tickets at the door are $20. Children under 7-years-old are $5. For ticket information call (586) 285-8920. Celebrity hairstylist Terrence Davidson delivered custom-made wigs Wednesday to 10 children in the Wigs 4 Kids program before he joined the children at fashion show fundraiser at Barrister Gardens. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit Wigs 4 Kids, a non-profit organization that provides wigs and support services to children experiencing hair loss as a result of illness and treatment. The program is available to Michigan children between the ages of 3 and 18 at no cost to them or their families.

Celebrity stylist to the stars will be deliver custom-made wigs to 10 children in the Wigs 4 Kids program at a fashion show for the St. Clair Shores-based charity. Terrence Davidson, whose clients include Tyra Banks, Patti Labelle, Jennifer Hudson and Nicki Minaj, will deliver the custom-made wigs to the Wigs 4 Kids Fashion Show from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Barrister Gardens. The community gathered Friday to celebrate and raise funds for Wigs 4 Kids.
Hundreds of supporters of Wigs 4 Kids filled Barrister Gardens Friday for the charity's annual fundraiser gala. The event is one of the largest fundraisers of the year for the St. Clair Shores-based charity. Wigs 4 Kids provides wigs and support services to Michigan children between 3- and 18-years-old experiencing hair loss from cancer treatment, alopecia, trichotillomania and other disorders. In addition to raising funds, the gala allows supporters, members of the community and Ambassadors an opportunity to enjoy an evening out with entertainment, dancing, sweets and unique raffles. A record crowd filled Barrister Gardens Sunday for the third Shorian Taste Fest.
Shorian Taste Fest organizers believe they exceeded previous attendance figures for the annual fundraising event the Lake Shore High School football teams. More than 800 people attended the event organized by Lake Shore Quarterback Club Sunday at Barrister Gardens, sampling dishes from nearly 30 restaurants from across St. Clair Shores and neighboring communities. Attendees also took part in a variety of raffles for items including televisions and an iPad 2 from Best Buy. A wide array of restaurants from St. Clair Shores and neighboring communities will be sampling their fare at the third Shorian Taste Fest Sunday at Barrister Gardens. The annual event is hosted by the Quarterback Club and raises funds for Lake Shore's football teams. More than 30 restaurants will fill the banquet hall including local restaurants such as Fishbone's, the Boat Works and Shores Inn, along with chains that are in the area including Del Taco. The Taste Fest will be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Barrister Gardens, 24225 Harper. Tickets are $20 at the door. Children 7 and younger are $5. Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum stumped for votes in St. Clair Shores as the Michigan primary nears.
Rick Santorum took on his Republican challengers and President Obama during a primary campaign stop in St. Clair Shores. The former senator from Pennsylvania took on Michigan native Mitt Romney and told his supporters that the election has not been determined. "No one two weeks ago gave us any chance," said Santorum. "This race is close, this race is winnable."
