A St. Clair Shores driver who struck the pedestrian Sunday night stayed on the scene.
A 27-year-old Macomb Township man died Sunday night in a Clinton Township accident, police said Monday morning. Around 11 p.m., a pickup truck crashed into the Macomb pedestrian on Hall Road near Dalcoma. The pickup driver, a 53-year-old St. Clair Shores man, stayed on the scene while the Macomb man was rushed to the hospital, according to Clinton Township police. Police reported that alcohol or speed did not appear to be a factor and no charges were filed against the driver by Monday. Witnesses are asked to call Clinton Township police to help their investigation. Police identified the motorist in Tuesday's fatal crash on Interstate 94 as a 49-year-old Mount Clemens man. William Weaver was transported to McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens after the accident, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said the crash that took place around 2:16 p.m. when Weaver merged from Metro Parkway onto the freeway, crossing over all three lanes. A multi-vehicle crash that prompted the closure of eastbound Interstate 94 at Metro Parkway Tuesday afternoon claimed the life of one motorist, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office. Deputies are investigating the accident that took place around 2:16 p.m. Preliminary reports lead them to believe the crash took place after a male driver merged from Metro Parkway onto the freeway, crossing over all three lanes. The driver's vehicle struck another vehicle before hitting the center median barrier before another vehicle crashed into it, deputies said. Motorists were directed off the freeway onto Metro Parkway as emergency responders arrived to the personal injury accident, deputies said. No further details were immediately available.

A Macomb Township man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.
A 20-year-old Macomb Township pedestrian suffered serious injuries after he was struck Wednesday by a vehicle near the Interstate 94 overpass in Harrison Township, police said. At approximately 1:38 a.m., a 21-year-old Mount Clemens woman reported to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office that she struck someone lying on Metro Parkway near the freeway overpass, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office. The driver of the 2003 Chevrolet Blazer was traveling westbound on Metro Parkway when she noticed something in the roadway. A 36-year-old St. Clair Shores faces a long recovery after he and his wife were struck by another driver.
Kevin Bruisnma remembers every moment from the night he and his wife were riding their motorcycle and were struck by a car. Bruisnma, and his wife Heather, were heading southbound on Harper about 10 p.m. Aug. 22 when he saw a white car driving north on the other side of the road. As the car approached, it drove through the turn lane near Alexander Street and into couple and their 1983 Honda Nighthawk motorcycle. "I turned hoping they would avoid us," Bruisnma said in a phone call Friday from his hospital bed. "They hit us." The couple was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered a number of injuries. A 54-year-old St. Clair Shores resident who disregarded a red light Wednesday and struck a U.S. Postal Service truck was ticketed for allegedly causing the accident. The driver of the sports utility vehicle was driving southbound on Harper and struck postal service truck, which was traveling eastbound on 11 Mile Road. The force of the accident caused the postal vehicle to roll over. St. Clair Shores Fire and EMS personnel extracted the driver out of the vehicle, according to St. Clair Shores Police Lt. A 26-year-old man from Standish was killed Saturday after he was hit by a vehicle on eastbound I-94. Police have closed eastbound I-94 at 11 Mile. The freeway has since reopened.
Police closed eastbound Interstate 94 at 11 Mile Road for nearly six hours Saturday after a 26-year-old road worker was struck and killed by a vehicle. The worker, who was identified by the Michigan State Police as Justin Vallad in multiple media reports, was part of a survey crew from Surveying Solutions Inc., which was contracted by the Michigan Department of Transportation. About 8:07 a.m. the worker was struck by a vehicle in a work zone between Frazho and 12 Mile, according to MDOT spokesman Rob Morosi. A 32-year-old township man suffered fatal injuries in a snowmobile crash in the early morning hours Tuesday, police said.
A 32-year-old man died shortly after his snowmobile crashed around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in Chesterfield Township, police said that afternoon. The man, whose name has not been released, was riding a snowmobile on a large grassy parcel off 23 Mile and D.W. Seaton. His friend, who was inside the house on the property where they both lived, discovered him after growing concerned when the snowmobile noise stopped for a few minutes, township Detective Sgt. Deron Myers said. The 33-year-old friend found the injured man near the flipped-over snowmobile and brought him back toward the house. Two passengers were thrown from a car early Monday morning.
A 7-year-old boy is in serious condition after the vehicle he was riding in was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe early Monday morning. St. Clair Shores police are investigating the serious accident about 2:30 a.m. at 10 Mile and Harper. The vehicle carrying the child was traveling northbound on Harper when it was struck by the SUV that allegedly ran a red light as it traveled westbound on 10 Mile. The force of the impact caused the child and an adult woman to be ejected from the vehicle. The woman was not seriously injured. The unidentified driver of the Tahoe was hospitalized, and police are awaiting results of blood tests to seek charges, St. Clair Shores Police Lt. Tom Willette said.
