This St. Clair Shores rock music school is a local franchise of the national company that started in 1998 as the Paul Green School of Rock Music in Philadelphia, PA. There is also a School of Rock franchise in Rochester, MI.

As stated on their website, the purpose of the school is "To inspire kids to rock...on stage and in life." The School of Rock employs a performance-based music program. Students participate in weekly, individual private music lessons from local rock music professionals, weekly band rehearsals with other students, and regularly scheduled live on stage performances at local rock concert venues.
