A few years ago Variety Doughnuts made a business decision to close the counter area where I used to treat my kids sometimes before school. This was done to open more parking spaces in their small lot for more lucrative "by the dozen" carry-out traffic instead of having parking occupied for long periods by low-spending stool dwellers. Or so the reasoning goes. We usually stayed about 15 minutes and spent about $7 each time. We were disappointed because it was a nice tradition for us, but I can see their point and still go back for carry-out. Best bear claws around.

Horrible! Rude staff. No VARIETY!!! Overpriced. They would not even let my children sit at the counter to eat the donuts I just bought.

The best donuts anywhere. The staff has always been friendly to me. It doesn't bother me that the counter is closed and that it's now carryout only. The owner has a right to operate the business in his/her own way, and expecting to be able to sit at the counter when no one else can is intrusive and rude. The donuts are a treat that I wouldn't give up.
