Homecoming Festivities, Fire Department Open House, Blessing of the Pets and More

Homecoming festivities, fire department open house and a free showing of a children's movie are among events planned this weekend in the Shores.

Here are some events to add to your calendar this weekend:

  • Lake Shore and South Lake will both have their homecoming games Friday.
  • Lake Shore Public Schools is inviting its alumni to the Homecoming Alumni Mixer from 6-8 p.m. on October 4th. There will be a tent on the northeast corner of the football field with refreshments, old photos, and yearbooks. Attendees are encouraged to wear their school colors.   • The St. Clair Shores Library will have free showing of "Hotel Transylvania" at 2 p.m. Saturday in the William Gilstorf Meeting Room.
  • Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Parish will hold a blessing of the pets at 3 p.m. Saturday on the front lawn of the church.
  • The St. Clair Shores Fire Department will hold an open house from noon - 4 p.m. Sunday at the Central Fire Station. The event will feature Sparky the fire dog, Scooter the talking fire hydrant, the smokehouse and fire safety information. Refreshments will be provided by the St. Clair Shores Firefighters Union #1744.
