Weekend Lane and Ramp Closures Planned for I-94

Here's a roundup of road closures and construction around southeast Michigan this weekend.

The following construction activities are scheduled for the weekend beginning Friday, Nov. 15, and ending Monday, Nov. 18. Some of this work may be postponed due to inclement weather or any unforeseen circumstances.

I-696:

In Macomb County, the eastbound I-696 ramp to eastbound I-94 will have a single lane closure, from 5 a.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Sunday, for reconstruction.

I-75:

In Oakland County, north and southbound I-75 at University will have the two left lanes closed from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday, for road maintenance. (Northbound will be completed first and then moved to southbound.)

In Detroit, southbound I-75 from 7 mile to I-94 will have a single lane closed, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday. Northbound I-75 from I-94 to 7 mile will have a single lane closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

In Detroit, southbound I-75 from Michigan Avenue to West Grand Boulevard will have the right lane closed, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, for sign work.

In Detroit, southbound I-75 ramp to Vernor Highway and the Ambassador Bridge will be closed from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday for sign work. The detour is southbound I-75 to Clark Street to northbound I-75 to Vernor Highway or the Ambassador Bridge.

I-94:

In Detroit, east and westbound I-94 at M-53 (Van Dyke Street) will have only one lane open, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday for sign work.

In Detroit east and westbound I-94 between Wyoming and I-96 will have single lane closures, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, for road work.

In Macomb County, construction at I-94 and the 12 mile area will occur from 5 a.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Sunday. This includes:

-the east and westbound I-94 ramps will be closed to 12 Mile Road.

-the 12 Mile Road ramps to east and westbound I-94 will close intermittently.

-the 11 Mile Road ramp to eastbound I-94 will close intermittently. 

I-96:

In Oakland County, westbound I-96 from Beck Road to Wixom Road, will have only one lane open nightly, from 10 pm Friday to 8 am Saturday, and 10 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday for road work.

In Oakland County, westbound I-96 ramp to northbound Milford Road is closed from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for construction.

In Detroit, eastbound I-96 from Warren Avenue to Vernor Highway will have only one lane open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday for sign work, all exit ramps will remain open.

In Detroit, the eastbound I-96 ramp to Ambassador Bridge will be closed, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, for sign work. The detour is eastbound I-96 to southbound I-75 to southbound Clark Street to northbound I-75 to the Ambassador Bridge.

M-10 (Northwestern Highway):

In Oakland County, north and southbound M-10 at 12 Mile Road will have intermittent closures (15 minutes) from 6 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday, for utility work.

M-3 (Gratiot Avenue):

The southbound M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) connector ramp to westbound I-94 will have intermittent closures, from 5 a.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Sunday, for reconstruction.

M-59 (Highland Road):

In Oakland County, east and westbound M-59, west of Pontiac Lake Road to Williams Lake Road, will have left and center turn lanes closed from 12 a.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Sunday for road maintenance.

LOCAL:

In Detroit, eastbound Grand River Avenue between 2nd Street and 1st Street will have the two left lanes closed from 9 a.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, for utility work.

MONDAY:

M-59:

In Macomb County, southbound M-53 at Clinton River Road will have single lane closures, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, for bridge work.
