Lake Shore Champions Reunite, Poetry Workshop and More This Week

City council to meet, champs reunite and a poetry workshop are among the events planned for this week in St. Clair Shores.

Here are some events to add to your calendar this week:

  • St. Clair Shores City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Among the items to be considered include a request to place a "No Parking, stopping, standing" sign on Elmdale across from Greenwood Elementary School.
  • Dr. Edward Parmentier, from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, will perform during an Advent service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
  • This is the final week for Grosse Pointe Theatre's presentation of Irving Berlin's classic, "White Christmas" with shows Tuesday - Sunday at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial. 
  • Lake Shore High School will honor the 20th Anniversary of the boys state championship basketball team between the girls varsity and boys varsity games. 
  • M.L. Liebler, an internationally published poet and author from St. Clair Shores, will hold a poetry workshop at 7 p.m. at the library. These sessions are free and open to all (ages 15 & up). To pre-register by calling Mr. Liebler at  (313) 577-7713 or e mailing him at MLLiebler@aol.com.
