Viewfinder: Coneys to Support Special Needs Playground

Residents across the city got their fill of coney dogs at the annual fundraiser for the St. Clair Shores Parks and Recreation Special Needs Children's Playground Program.

Residents gathered Thursday at the Senior Activities Center for a coney dog fundraiser for the St. Clair Shores Special Needs Children's Playground Program.

Volunteers from the Warren De La Salle basketball team, St. Clair Shores Diversity Council, members of the skate park committee and the Senior Center of the Shores Board helped serve food and tend tables throughout the night.

Individual donors, along with corporate sponsors National Coney Island, Christian Financial and Kohl's, helped make the dinner one of the largest fundraisers of the year for the program, according to Greg Esler, parks and recreation director.
