Shores Resident Receives Salute to Diversity Award
St. Clair Shores resident Maria Martinez was recently named a 2013 Salute Diversity Winner.
St. Clair Shores resident Maria Martinez was recently named a 2013 Salute to Diversity Winner by Corp! Magazine.
Martinez is one of 16 individuals being recognized in the category of Diversity Business Leader, according to a release.
"Macomb County is proud to have champions of diversity in our community, especially when working with our youth," said Macomb County Executive Mark A. Hackel in a release.

Martinez leads the St. Clair Shores Youth Council (SCSYC) for Diversity and Inclusion. According to a release, the organization is dedicated to the development of their members to become ambassadors of social justice. The group’s mission is to create and support an inclusive environment in their school and community.
"Today, we honor Maria who exemplifies diversity and inclusion values that are crucial to making Macomb County a better place to live," said Assistant County Executive Pam Lavers, in a release.
