In Photos: Optimists Deliver Thanksgiving Baskets

Families across St. Clair Shores received baskets filled with items for Thanksgiving dinner, and meals throughout the week.

Members of the Optimist Club of St. Clair Shores spent their Sunday preparing and delivering food baskets to families in need.

Club members assembled baskets for 17 families at the assembly line-style South Lake Schools' warehouse. The basket included food for a week in addition to Thanksgiving dinner.

“Community service is about helping people, and this project allows us to understand the plight of those around us and deepens our sense of human compassion," club President Debbie DePape said in a release. “We are proud to serve the children and families of our city and fortunate to be able to step up to help those in need.”
