In Photos: Red Wings Alumni Helped Young Hockey Players

More than $10,000 was raised in February during the the Red Wings Alumni hockey game at Civic Arena.

A between Team GTJ and the Detroit Red Wings Alumni raised more than $10,000 for the St. Clair Shores Hockey Association.

The February game attracted more than 1,000 people, and featured Team GTJ scoring the go ahead goal with seconds remaining to win 8-7.

“We may have won the game, but the real winners are all the kids and parents involved with the St. Clair Shores Hockey Association,” said Kyle Johnson Johnson, Vice President of the GTJ Foundation, in a release.

GTJ recently presented to a check for $10,120 to the St. Clair Shores Hockey Association.

Paul Doppke, president of the SCSHA, added in a release, “Our board and the kids in the program are very thankful for the support the GTJ Foundation is providing.”
