Triathlon to Take to the Streets of St. Clair Shores and Grosse Pointe

Motorists should be aware of additional traffic on the Lake Shore and Jefferson Saturday as runners and bicyclists take to roadways for the Shores-Pointes Adventure Triathlon.

Early morning risers in St. Clair Shores and the Grosse Pointes should be aware of extra traffic on local roadways as participants in the second take to local streets. 

The triathlon starts at 7 a.m. with participants taking to Lake St. Clair for 2.1 mile kayak race at . At the same time, participants in the duathalon will run the 5K. This will start at the park, and will proceed to Jefferson to Revere, east to the lake and back to Jefferson.

Runners wil continue to and Lange, to the lake, and back to Blossom Heath.

Participants will then begin the bicycle portion of the race, which proceeds south on Jefferson into the Grosse Pointes to Waverly, west to Kercheval to Provencal, and back to Blossom Heath.

The triathlon should be complete by noon, but the Blossom Heath boat ramp will be closed until 1 p.m. Saturday.
