St. Clair Shores Becomes Soccertown This Weekend

The annual St. Clair Shores Waterfront Invitational kicks off today with games throughout the city.

Soccer moms and dads will be traveling between fields in St. Clair Shores this weekend as 130 teams from across the Midwest and Canada participate in the .

The annual event, which includes eight teams from St. Clair Shores, attracts some of the top teams in the region for games at , and .

"It looks like we will have an excellent weekend," said Bryant Goodreau, tournament spokesman.

Proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the St. Clair Shores Special Needs Program, which has received about $70,000 over the past 14 years from the event.
