St. Clair Shores Hosting Silver Stick and Introducing One Team a Michigan Weather

Civic Arena is hosting the mite International Silver Stick tournament this weekend with teams from across the United States and Canada.

Some of the top mite hockey teams in United States and Canada are taking the ice this weekend at Civic Arena.

This is the 30th year the tournament is being held in St. Clair Shores, and has attracted 40 teams who are regional champions or finalists. In addition to hosting teams from cold weather communities, there was a team from a city where snow and sub-zero weather is the exception.

The San Francisco Sabercats are playing in the tournament, and their players hope to play in the snow a bit in between the games. They also left 66-degree weather in the "City by the Bay," to come play in the Silver Stick.

There are still two days left in the tournament. Tickets are $5 per day, or $12 for the weekend.
