St. Clair Shores Hockey Teams Are Among the Tops in the State, Nation

Teams from the St. Clair Shores Hockey Association were among the top teams in recent state and national tournaments.

• The St. Clair Shores 14U Saintes won the Girls 14U Tier II State Championship.

• The SCS Midget A Saints won the 16U Tier Two State Championship.
• The SCS Saints Midget A team won States and lost April 6 in the National Championship game.

Hockey Association President Paul Doppke congratulated the team in an email shared with Patch:

"What an incredible experience not only for the boys, their coaches and their families, but also for all of us to be able to take part in. The opportunity we had this weekend to watch such talented athletes fight for the title of National Champs was rare and everyone should feel honored and proud to be a part of that.  Of course a win would have been outstanding but we are extremely proud to have the National Runner Up title.  The crowd of hundreds of fans from SCS showed how supportive our organization is of our teams and the camaraderie in the rink felt amazing.  Thank you for supporting these young men and their families - way to go Saints," Doppke wrote.
