That’s the question heading into Thanksgiving, when the defending Super Bowl champion and 10-0 Green Bay Packers visit Ford Field to take on the hometown Detroit Lions. Kickoff is at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, and the game will be televised on Fox.

While locals sports fans long have viewed the Thanksgiving game with pride, even when the Lions have struggled, this year’s Turkey Day matchup figures to draw national attention because both teams are surging.

The Lions and the Packers enter the game with a combined record of 17-3, and Sports Illustrated’s Peter King says this is the best Detroit Thanksgiving game since 1962.

In addition, the Lions are one of the few remaining challenges as the Packers look to complete a perfect 16-0 regular season.
