Marysville Edges South Lake 22-21

South Lake lost a close game to Marysville in the final game of the regular season.

Marysville handed its first loss of the high school football season Friday with a 22-21 victory.

The defeat was the first for the Cavaliers, and also marked the most points given up by South Lake's defense all year. Until Friday, the defense only allowed six points this season.

"You finish the way you started," coach Steve Senters told his team during a postgame talk on the field.

South Lake, the outright MAC Bronze Division league champions, have qualified for the playoffs and will learn their opponent Sunday.

The Cavaliers scoring began the scoring with a 50-yard run by Casual Williams. South Lake's second touchdown came on a 33-yard pass from Travon DeSaussure to Jamyre Anderson.

The Cavs third touchdown came on a three-yard run by Casual Williams.

While Marysville won, their offense was held to the fewest number of points all season. The next lowest point total was on Sept. 1, when Lakeview held the Vikings to only 28 points in a to Marysville.
