Lady Huskies Capture Soccer District, Baseball and Softball Teams End Season

Lakeview soccer moves on to regionals while baseball and softball seasons end for all three schools

We’re going to start by taking a quick peek backwards to see just how the baseball and softball teams in your community fared this past week, then we’ll give our weekly shout-outs to those squads who turned in incredible performances in the postseason.

The Lady Huskies, on the heels of a somewhat pedestrian regular season, rose to capture a district crown Saturday night with an 8-0 of Center Line High in the final.

The win moves the squad to the regional round where they’ll meet up with Lamphere High, June 7, at Bloomfield Hills Andover.

Both and were eliminated from the soccer tourney in the district round.

On the diamond, all three local schools saw their state title hopes come to an end in districts, with the the girls softball squad advancing to the final against Grosse Pointe North. 

The Norsemen the Lady Huskies, 3-2, to claim the title.

South Lake was bounced from the state softball tournament by Lamphere in the district semifinals, while Lake Shore fell to rival Lake Shore, also in the semifinals.

In baseball, Lakeview and Lake Shore were ousted by eventual-district-champion, Grosse Pointe South, while South Lake fell to Lamphere.
