"Gridiron" Leads The Lions Faithful At Ford Field

St. Clair Shores resident Theo "Gridiron" Spight leads the Lions faithful in the team fight song after every score by the Honolulu blue and silver at Ford Field.

When the Detroit Lions score at Ford Field, St. Clair Shores-resident Theo "Gridiron" Spight may be the one of the loudest hometown fans.

During home games, Spight can be found on the field with his Lions jersey and hardhat leading the crowd in the 10-line Lions fight song that ends in "Gooooo Lions."

Spight is in his tenth year of singing the fight song for the Lions after being discovered during a singing contest sponsored by WDIV-TV.

He told Patch last season that he has been living a "dream" of being a Lions fan.

"The Lions have the greatest fans ever," he said. "All they want to do is see the team win."
