Local Bantam B hockey team wins state championship.

  • Whiz Kids Name: St. Clair Shores Bruins Bantam B Hockey team comprised of  Matthew Barrett, Dustin Bramos, Riley Gardiner, Hunter Gollehur, Jeffrey Kochanski, Maxwell Kolinski, Matthew Lenhardt, Cody McAdory, Joshua Piepszowski, Jenna Pleva, Trevor Pode, Tyler Quatrine, Adam Savage, Peter Shalawylo, Anthony Simon, Jacob Stone. They were coached by head coach, Stewart Gardiner, and assistant coaches Jon Gardner, Dan Piepszowski and Ron Pleva.
  • Whiz Kid’s Accomplishment: The Bruins recently captured the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association’s (MAHA) State Championship at the Eddie Edgar Arena in Livonia.
  • Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: The Bruins were undefeated in the championship tournament going into the final game against the Livingston Lightning. The game went into overtime before the Bruins won 4-3. Additionally, goalie Jenna Pleva was the State Tournament MVP, stopping 32 of 35 shots in the championship game.
