South Lake Welcomes Business, Community Leaders

South Lake Schools welcomed business, community and elected officials Tuesday for a breakfast at the high school.

The cafeteria at South Lake High School was filled Tuesday morning not with students but business, elected and city leaders for the district's first Community and City Leaders Breakfast.

"We really wanted to reach out to members of our community," said South Lake Superintendent Pamela Balint, of the breakfast which is part of on-going effort to showcase the district to residents. "It is important for us to reconnect with the community and restore the bond."

Nearly 70 people including Mayor Kip Walby, Mark O'Brien, chairman of Roy O'Brien Ford and Richard Swanquist, president of the Lac Ste Claire Kiwanis attended the breakfast catered by culinary students and a performance by the school choir.
