Yes, senior Derick Frabotta is quite the transformer.

Frabotta is a valued member of the Shorian football team this season and also manages to juggle marching band at the same time. Once halftime hits, instead of taking a knee for a rest, this versatile young man grabs his tuba and hits the field to march.

"It is interesting to watch him when half time arrives, as he transitions from football mode to music mode," Lake Shore Athletic Director John Hartley said.  "Derick is a student that is involved in a number of activities at the school and he excels in the classroom. He is one of those students that works very hard for his achievements and is a true asset to Lake Shore High School."

On the football field, Frabotta is all about the team.

"Derick is the consummate team player," Lake Shore head football coach Tom Iwanicki said.  "He is always available to step in and play any position on the offensive and defensive line.  He is a physical player, but his greatest asset is his ability to know all of the assignments on the O-Line.  I like to consider Derick an equivalent to a basketball team's sixth man. He may not start, but he will play significant minutes and be an important key to our success as a team."

In his spare time, Frabotta excels in the classroom with an all-A average, serves as treasurer for the National Honor Society, is a senior mentor for the freshmen students and is a member of the wrestling team.
