Shorian Taste Fest Offers a Smorgasbord of Restaurants

The popular Lake Shore Quarterback Club's Shorian Taste Fest, which features restaurants from across St. Clair Shores and the region, will be held March 25 at Barrister Gardens.

Football may be ultimate team sport, and for , that team includes students, coaches, family and the community.

All these components of the Lake Shore team come together annually for the Shorian Taste Fest at , an event which attracts more than to sample dishes from at least 30 restaurants from St. Clair Shores and across the region.

In addition to giving attendees an opportunity to try a wide-range of menu items, the Taste Fest raises funds for football team including pads, headsets for the coaches and cameras.

"These are things they need every single day," said Craig Manning, president of the Quarterback Club, which organizes the event and consults with the team and the school to purchase the items.

This year marks the third year for Taste Fest, which not only receives support from restaurants, but also local businesses including Kohl's, Best Buy and Metro PCS.

These businesses, and others, support the event in many ways including donating items for raffles for gift cards, electronics and other items.

"We expect this to be a great event," Manning said.

Tickets are $15 per person in advance, $20 at the door. Students, from any school, can purchase tickets for $10 with identification. A $5 donation is requested for children 7-years-old.
