Power Outage in the 11 Mile Area, Line Workers Injured

Power is out to about 900 DTE Energy customers between Harper and Little Mack, and Martin and Sunnydale.

Nearly 900 DTE Energy customers, including Lakeview High School and the Lakeview administration building, Wednesday afternoon.

According to the DTE Energy website, power went out about 1:45 p.m and is expected to be restored about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials at Lakeview said the school will be dismissed as normal, and there are no other schools affected.

At the time of the outage, two subcontractors who were working on lines at Frazho and Harper "accessed some voltage," according to St. Clair Shores Fire Battalion Chief Mike Witt. 

The workers had minor injuries, and were walking and talking afterwards. Witt said they were hospitalized as a precaution. 

DTE officials said the outage, and injuries, are under investigation.
